Foot Surgery
Foot surgery is performed to decrease pain, and to improve alignment and comfort when walking. Initially an appointment is made to assess the type of surgery that may help your foot problem.
To decide on which surgical procedure is most appropriate it is often necessary to take X-rays to accurately assess your bones and joints. Blood Tests and other Imaging such as MRI or CT scans can be arranged if it is thought necessary.
During your consultation you will be informed about the different types of surgery that could be performed to solve your foot problem. You will also be provided with details on how to prepare for the day of surgery, what happens on the day of surgery, and what to expect during your recovery from the surgery, and how long you will need to be absent from work. You will be given information sheets to take home, to help you arrive at the best treatment plan for your circumstances.
Any non-surgical solutions that may cure your problem will also be discussed during your consultation. To book a pre-surgery consultation please telephone our receptionists who will be please to help you.
For your safety we use a dedicated Foot Operating theatre. It has a specialist equipment developed just for foot operations. It is not used for general surgery, so it has one of the lowest infection rates in London. We perform surgery under local anaesthesia so you can go home the same day.
